Vietnam eVisa — For Canadian Travelers 2026
Urgent Vietnam
Visa Extension
for Canadians
Staying longer than planned? Get a new official Vietnam eVisa in 30 minutes to 1 day, from $110, government fee included, then re-enter without delay.
Extension or New eVisa?
Many Canadians search for a “visa extension” when their eVisa is about to expire or has been used. The eVisa itself is a fixed-validity document (30 or 90 days) and the online portal has no extension function. In-country extensions are handled by Vietnamese immigration and depend on your visa type and circumstances, so outcomes and timing are not something we can promise. What works predictably is a fresh eVisa: you apply online (even while you are in Vietnam), exit the country, and re-enter on the new visa. This is the service this page describes.
When Does This Make Sense?
- Your eVisa expires soon and you want to stay longer
- You used a single-entry eVisa and want to leave and come back (for example a short trip to Cambodia, Thailand or Laos)
- You forgot to apply before a flight, or your original application is delayed
- Your plans changed because of work or family
Fast eVisa Fees for Canadians
All fees are in USD for single-entry and include the Vietnamese government fee. Multiple-entry adds $25. Nothing is payable at the airport.
| Processing time | Best for | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| 30-60 Minutes | Re-entering within the hour | $215 |
| 1.5 Hours | Heading to the border or airport | $185 |
| 2.5 Hours | Same-day re-entry | $155 |
| 5 Hours | Re-entering later today | $125 |
| 1 Day | Re-entering tomorrow — best value | $110 |
| Weekend / Holiday | Saturday, Sunday or public holiday | $230 |
Not in a hurry? The normal tier (4-6 days) is $50. Fixing an error on an existing application is $85.
How to Get Your New eVisa
Match the speed to the time you have before you need to re-enter.
Passport details, passport photo page, portrait photo and email. Set your arrival date to the day you will re-enter Vietnam.
One all-inclusive fee. The government fee is already in the price.
Show the PDF on your phone at airline check-in and at Vietnamese immigration alongside your passport.
What You Need
- Canadian passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned exit date
- Photo of the passport information page and a recent portrait photo
- A working email address (your eVisa is sent there)
- Your exit and re-entry plan. If you re-enter by land or sea, check that the border checkpoint is on the official eVisa list
Tips Before You Leave Vietnam
- Apply before you exit. Have your new eVisa in hand before you cross the border or board, not after.
- Set the right arrival date. The new eVisa is valid from the arrival date you enter.
- Consider 3 months. A 90-day eVisa gives you the most flexibility if your plans change again.
- Check your current stay. Do not overstay your existing visa while you wait; leave on or before its expiry date.
Vietnamese Business Hours Matter
Final approvals come from the Vietnamese government, which works Monday to Friday, 8:00-11:30 and 13:30-18:00 Vietnam time (GMT+7). Weekday tiers run inside those hours, and the Weekend/Holiday service covers the days the government is closed (apply before 15:00 Vietnam time for delivery before 18:00 the same day). Our support is 24/7. If your exit or flight falls outside government hours, message us on WhatsApp before paying and we'll tell you honestly what is realistic.
Don't apply again. Send us your reference code and registered email on WhatsApp and choose SPEED UP. You've already paid the $25 government fee, so you only pay the speed-up fee.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can Canadians extend a Vietnam eVisa without leaving the country?+
An eVisa cannot be extended through the online portal, and in-country extension rules and costs are decided by Vietnamese immigration case by case. The reliable route most travellers use is to apply for a new eVisa, leave Vietnam and re-enter on the new one. Message us on WhatsApp if you are unsure which route fits your situation.
How fast can I get a new Vietnam eVisa as a Canadian?+
From 30-60 minutes ($215) to 1 day ($110) on weekdays during Vietnamese government hours, and $230 through our Weekend/Holiday service. Government fee is included in every price.
Can I apply for the new eVisa while I am still in Vietnam?+
Yes. The eVisa application is online and does not require you to be outside Vietnam. Enter the date you will re-enter Vietnam as your arrival date, and make sure you have a real exit and return plan before you apply.
Is visa on arrival available for Canadians?+
No. Canadian citizens need an approved eVisa (or another visa obtained in advance) before boarding. Airlines will refuse check-in without one.
Is approval guaranteed?+
The final decision is always made by the Vietnamese government, so no agency can guarantee approval. What we guarantee is the timeframe you choose: if we miss it, you get a 100% refund.
What documents do I need?+
A passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned exit date, a photo of the passport information page, a portrait photo, your email address, and your exit and re-entry travel details.
Do I pay anything at the airport?+
No. You pay once online. Your approved eVisa arrives as a PDF by email, and you show it on your phone at check-in and at Vietnamese immigration.
