Four Same-Day Vietnam Visa Options for Australians 2026
Same-day processing means your approved eVisa arrives today — within the processing window you choose, from the time your complete application is received. The government portal (evisa.gov.vn) cannot do this: it takes a minimum of 3 business days and is closed on weekends. All four options below are available 24/7 through ApplyEvisaVietnam.com and include the Vietnamese government fee.
| Option | Single-entry | Multiple-entry | Apply when... |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flash Rush 30–60 Min | $215 | $240 | Boarding in under 90 minutes — at gate |
| 1.5 Hours | $185 | $210 | At airport, check-in counter still open |
| 2.5 Hours | $155 | $180 | In Uber or taxi heading to SYD/MEL/BNE/PER |
| 5 Hours | $125 | $150 | Flying this afternoon or evening from any AU city |
All four options include the Vietnamese government fee. Multiple-entry adds $25 and is required if you plan to cross into Cambodia, Laos, or Thailand and return to Vietnam during your trip. If you are unsure, choose the faster option — the price difference between adjacent speeds is $25–$30 USD, far less than the cost of missing a flight.
How to Choose the Right Same-Day Option
The right choice depends entirely on how much time you have between now and when check-in closes for your flight. Check-in for Vietnam Airlines and Jetstar typically closes 60 minutes before departure at Australian airports.
| Time until check-in closes | Where you are now | Choose | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under 60 minutes | At gate or security | Flash Rush — apply immediately | $215 |
| 60–90 minutes | At terminal, check-in open | Flash Rush or 1.5 Hours | $185–$215 |
| 90 minutes – 2.5 hours | In transit to airport | 1.5 Hours or 2.5 Hours | $155–$185 |
| 2.5–5 hours | Still at home / hotel | 2.5 Hours | $155 |
| 5–8 hours | Plenty of time today | 5 Hours | $125 |
| Flight is tomorrow | Applying today for tomorrow | 1 Business Day ($110) — best value | $110 |
Common Same-Day Situations for Australian Travellers
Forgot to apply — flight today
Apply the option matching your time to check-in from the table above. Do not submit to evisa.gov.vn — the government portal takes 3–5 business days. Open ApplyEvisaVietnam.com on mobile data immediately, complete the form in under 8 minutes, and pay.
eVisa still processing on evisa.gov.vn — flight today
The government portal does not offer same-day or urgent processing. A pending application cannot be accelerated through the portal itself. Contact us via WhatsApp +84 987121355 with your reference number (format: E260820AUS...). If your file is correct we may be able to use it to speed up processing without charging the government fee again. If your flight is in under 5 hours, apply a new same-day application in parallel while we check the existing one.
Wrong name or date on approved eVisa — flight today
Contact us via WhatsApp +84 987121355 immediately. The error correction service ($85) can request Vietnamese immigration to reopen and correct the file. If time is very short, a new Flash Rush application ($215) may be faster than waiting for a correction. Our team will advise which is achievable given your departure time.
Spontaneous trip to Vietnam — decided today
Apply the 5-hour option ($125) if your flight is later today, or Flash Rush ($215) if you are heading to the airport now. Vietnam is one of the most popular spontaneous travel destinations for Australians — same-day eVisa processing is designed exactly for this situation.
Critical: Vietnam Arrival Date vs Australian Departure Date
The entry date on your eVisa must be the date your flight lands in Vietnam, not the date you depart Australia. This is the most common mistake on same-day applications, and on a Flash Rush or 2.5-hour application there is very little time to correct it.
Most flights from Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane to Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi depart in the evening and arrive the following morning in Vietnam. An evening departure from SYD on a Tuesday means a Wednesday arrival in Vietnam. Enter Wednesday — not Tuesday — as your entry date. Open your booking confirmation and use the Vietnam arrival date shown there.
How to Apply for a Same-Day Vietnam eVisa from Australia
- Open ApplyEvisaVietnam.com on mobile data. Telstra, Optus, or Vodafone — not airport WiFi. Select the speed matching your departure timeline.
- Open your passport to the photo page and type your full name directly from it. Include middle names. Every character must match. Do not type from memory.
- Enter your Vietnam arrival date from your booking confirmation — the date your flight lands in Vietnam, not your Australian departure date.
- Take a white-wall selfie. Plain white background, face forward, no glasses, no hat. Take 3–4 shots in good light, use the sharpest.
- Choose single or multiple-entry. Multiple-entry (+$25) required if crossing into Cambodia, Laos, or Thailand and returning to Vietnam. Cannot be changed after issue.
- Enter any hotel name in Vietnam and pay by Visa or Mastercard in USD. Government fee included. No fees on arrival.
- Screenshot the approved PDF immediately when it arrives by email. Show on your phone at check-in and at Vietnamese immigration on arrival. No cash, no queue.
FAQ: Vietnam Same-Day Visa for Australians 2026

Yes. Four same-day options are available 24/7: Flash Rush 30–60 min ($215), 1.5 hours ($185), 2.5 hours ($155), 5 hours ($125). All include the Vietnamese government fee. The approved eVisa PDF arrives by email and is shown on your phone at check-in.
Which same-day option is right for my departure time? +
Flash Rush ($215) if boarding in under 90 minutes. 1.5 Hours ($185) if at the airport with check-in open. 2.5 Hours ($155) in a taxi to the airport. 5 Hours ($125) flying this afternoon or evening. When in doubt, choose the faster option — the price difference is $25–$30, far less than a missed flight.
What Vietnam arrival date do Australians use on a same-day application? +
The date your flight lands in Vietnam — not your Australian departure date. SYD, MEL, and BNE flights typically arrive the following calendar day. Perth via Singapore may arrive same or next day. Check your booking confirmation for the exact Vietnam arrival date and use that date.
Can I apply for a same-day Vietnam visa at an Australian airport? +
Yes. Use mobile data (Telstra, Optus, or Vodafone) — not airport WiFi — at SYD, MEL, BNE, PER, ADL, OOL, or any Australian international airport. The form takes under 8 minutes. Flash Rush delivers in 30–60 minutes, 1.5 Hours in 90 minutes.
My eVisa on evisa.gov.vn is still processing -- can I still get it today? +
Possibly. Contact us via WhatsApp +84 987121355 with your reference number (format: E260820AUS...) and registered email. If your file is correct we may be able to speed it up without charging the government fee again. If your flight is in under 5 hours, apply a new same-day application in parallel while we check the existing one.
Does the same-day service work on weekends and public holidays? +
Yes. All four same-day options operate 24/7 including Saturdays, Sundays, and all Australian and Vietnamese public holidays. The government portal does not process on weekends or Vietnamese public holidays.
Is there a refund if the same-day visa is not delivered on time? +
Yes. 100% refund of the processing fee if not delivered within the committed timeframe. Contact us immediately via WhatsApp +84 987121355 if your deadline is approaching.
Do I need to print the same-day Vietnam eVisa? +
No. Show the approved PDF on your phone screen at check-in and at Vietnamese immigration on arrival. Screenshot it immediately to your camera roll so it is accessible without internet.
