Why Australians Need to Understand Vietnam Visa Fees
Planning your Vietnam trip is exciting, but visa fees can be confusing. Australian travelers often wonder: "How much does a Vietnam visa cost?" or "Are there extra charges at the airport?" This guide breaks down all Vietnam eVisa costs, including standard and urgent processing options, so you can budget accurately and avoid surprises.
Standard Vietnam eVisa Fees for Australians
Vietnam eVisa (single-entry, up to 90 days):
- Government fee: $25 USD (fixed)
- Standard processing total: $50 USD (includes the government fee, plus standard service handling), delivered in 4-6 working days
Key point: this is the final price for standard processing — nothing further to pay at the airport. The eVisa is a single, pre-approved document; there's no separate counter or stamping process involved.
Urgent Vietnam eVisa Prices for Australians (2026)
If you need your visa processed fast, urgent services are available. All fees below are in USD, apply to a single-entry visa, and already include the government fee. Multiple-entry adds $25 to any tier.
| Processing time | Fee (USD) | Extra airport fee? |
|---|---|---|
| Normal (4–6 days) | $50 | No |
| 1 Day | $110 | No |
| 5 Hours | $125 | No |
| 2.5 Hours | $155 | No |
| 1.5 Hours | $185 | No |
| 30–60 Minutes | $215 | No |
| Weekend / Public Holiday | $230 | No |
These fees include government and service charges — your approved visa is delivered by email, ready to show at check-in and immigration. Recommendation: if you have time, standard processing is the most cost-effective. If you're about to fly, the 30-60 minute urgent tier ensures you don't miss your trip.
Hidden Fees? What Australians Should Watch Out For
Some websites show low prices but add hidden charges later. To avoid this:
- Confirm whether the displayed price already includes the government fee
- Be cautious of any provider suggesting you'll need to pay cash at the airport — the current eVisa system has no such requirement, so this is a red flag for an outdated or unreliable process
- Choose providers with transparent, itemized pricing shown clearly before you pay
On ApplyEvisaVietnam.com, all prices are transparent and final — what you see at checkout is what you pay, with nothing further owed on arrival.
How to Apply Without Overpaying
- Use a reputable visa service — avoid unverified websites with vague or missing pricing
- Double-check pricing — confirm the government fee is included in the total shown
- Pay online securely — the eVisa requires no cash payment at any point, including at the airport
- Keep your eVisa PDF handy — save it to your phone and print a copy if you'd like extra peace of mind; airport staff and immigration will check it
