Mistakes to Avoid
Seven small errors cause most delays and corrections. Here is how to spot and avoid each one.
Eligibility is rarely the problem. Small, avoidable errors are. This guide lists the mistakes we see most, with the simplest way to avoid each.
Key Takeaways
- Compare every detail with the passport before submitting.
- Entry type and validity cannot be changed after payment.
- Do not apply twice: it can mean a second government fee and duplicate files.
- Apply early; processing follows Vietnamese working days.
- A correction through our service costs $85.
Seven Common Mistakes
| Mistake | Why it matters | How to avoid it |
|---|---|---|
| Typos in name, number or date of birth | Mismatch with the passport can delay or block travel | Copy from the passport data page, not from memory |
| Blurry or cropped photos | Can delay processing | Retake in good light, whole page visible |
| Wrong arrival date | Validity counts from it | Use the day your flight lands |
| Wrong entry type or validity | Cannot be changed after payment | Decide before you pay |
| Applying twice | Second government fee, duplicate files | Message us before reapplying |
| Applying too late | Normal processing is 3-5 business days | Apply a week ahead if possible |
| Ignoring the time difference | Vietnamese hours are GMT+7 | Count working days in Vietnam time |
If You Already Made One
Tell us as soon as you notice. The route depends on the status: an issued eVisa with an error is a correction ($85); a pending application with an error may need a corrected new application at the standard fee. We tell you which after a free file check.

What happens if my name is wrong?+
A mismatch with the passport can cause delays or problems at check-in. Tell us straight away; a correction on an issued eVisa costs $85.
Can I change entry type or validity after paying?+
No. They cannot be changed after payment.
Should I apply again if I made a mistake?+
Not before checking with us. It can mean paying the government fee twice and creating duplicate files.
How much does a correction cost?+
$85 through our service for an issued eVisa. A pending application with an error may need a corrected new application at the standard fee.
How do I avoid delays?+
Apply at least a week before you fly, check every detail against your passport, use clear photos and an email you can check.
Why does the arrival date matter?+
Validity counts from the arrival date you enter. A date weeks too early wastes days.
