Sydney to Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi is one of the most popular Vietnam routes for Australians. If you're at Sydney Kingsford Smith (SYD) and just realized you don't have a Vietnam visa, don't panic — a fully approved eVisa can be issued in as little as 30-60 minutes.
Why Australians Flying From Sydney Need a Visa
All Australian citizens need a valid visa to enter Vietnam. Without an approved eVisa:
- Airlines will deny boarding at Sydney check-in counters
- Vietnamese immigration will refuse entry on arrival
The eVisa is valid for up to 90 days, available as single-entry or multiple-entry, and accepted at all major Vietnamese airports including Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang.
When You'd Need This From Sydney
- Forgot to apply before your flight
- Only discovered the visa requirement at Sydney Airport
- Booked a last-minute flight to Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi
- Have an urgent business meeting or family matter in Vietnam
Pricing (2026)
All fees below are in USD, apply to a single-entry visa, and already include the government fee. Multiple-entry adds $25 to any tier.
| Processing time | Fee (USD) |
|---|---|
| 30–60 Minutes | $215 |
| 1.5 Hours | $185 |
| 2.5 Hours | $155 |
| 5 Hours | $125 |
| 1 Day | $110 |
| Normal 4–6 Days | $50 |
The 30-60 minute tier is the fastest option available — useful whether you're at home or already at the gate.
